For the bourbon bacon

  • 12 strips thick-cut smoked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • pinch salt

For the burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef (anywhere from 80% to 90% lean)
  • 1/3 medium onion, grated (literally grate the onion on a cheese grater!)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Boozy Bacon Barbecue Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
